Cape Town is steeped in a rich history and is a cultural melting pot with its diverse and dynamic
character. The Forum proposes to discover this wonderful city and its diverse activities through an optional tours programme open to registered participants and spouses.
A specific post Forum tour programme has also been tailor made for delegates and spouses.
These tours will be an excellent opportunity to enjoy some of the most outstanding natural highlights
of South Africa and neighbouring countries.

How to sign up for Tours
For all information and bookings on tours during the conference, a Tours Desk will be located in Forum Welcome Desk area, at the CTICC and open during the entire duration of the Forum.
Online registrations are closed, you can register on site at the forum.

Payment
Thebe accepts all major credit cards (Visa, Master, Diners and Amex, subject to an additional 3,5% service fee), and bank transfers (all bank charges are those of the clients) as well as cash payment.
Booking Deadline
Tours booking deadline: October 10th, 2007. Any tours reservation request submitted to Thebe Conferences& Events after this date and all on site reservation requests will be subject to availability.
Confirmation
Once your tour reservation request is handled, Thebe Conferences & Events will mail you an invoice/confirmation letter summarizing tour details and specifying payment status.
Cancellation Policy
The date of cancellation shall be deemed to be the date on which the written notification is received in the Thebe Conferences & Events Cape Town offices which issued the confirmation.
- 30 - 15 days prior to commencement: 25% of the total tour cost
- 14 - 8 days prior to commencement: 50% of the total tour cost
- 7 days or less prior to commencement: 100% of the total tour cost
Children
Children under 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. No unaccompanied children will be permitted on any tour. Liability Waiver must be signed by legal guardian.

For less than 6 participants, Thebe reserves the right to cancel the tour

Cape Malay
Cooking Safari
The walk through Cape Town’s historical
quarter focuses on the extraordinary
cuisine of the Cape Malay community.
While shopping for ingredients to make
a typical Cape Malay dish we discover
links between history, food and religion
in the Bo-Kaap. This is followed by a
cooking workshop in a Bo-Kaap family
home which also offers the opportunity for
interesting talk and interaction.

Robben Island
Take a ferry to Robben Island, one of the
most significant historical sights in South
Africa. First a replenishment station for the
Dutch East India Company, it became a
leper colony, a penal colony for slaves,
and then in 1960 it gained notoriety as a
prison for those considered dangerous to
the government. On your visit you will
view Nelson Mandela's prison cell and
see the lime quarries where he once
worked. Ex-political prisoners will escourt
you and provide a unique perspective on
this aspect of South Africa's past. (Kindly
note that this tour is weather dependant).

Table Mountain and City Tour
A trip up Table Mountain by cable car (weather permitting) and

Rovos Rail Luxury Train Trip (2 days / 1 night)
For many visitors to South Africa, there's no

bushveld, passing through the winelands

General Conditions for Post Forum Tours
Accommodation
Wherever possible Thebe books rooms with private bath on the basis of 2 persons sharing a twin/double room. Single rooms are available at a supplementary charge but are not guaranteed. Hotels, lodges and camps where mentioned are named as an indication of category and Thebe reserves the right to make alternate arrangements at similar hotels, lodges, camps.
Transport
Thebe reserves the right to employ the services of sub-contractors.
Alteration to services
The right is reserved to change any route or arrangements should conditions necessitate, to offer substitutes of equal value or to cancel the operation of any scheduled service. The company will not be liable for any loss, damage that may be incurred by any alteration, suspension or curtailment of services.
General
Not included in Thebe quotations are airfares, airport taxes, visas, beverages, gratuities and any expenses of a personal nature such as telephone/fax, laundry or room service charges.
Insurance and liability
It is strongly recommended to insure against
cancellation, medical expenses, personal
accident, loss or damage to personal
property, loss or damage to luggage.
Neither the Company nor persons acting
for, through or on behalf of the Company
shall be liable for any loss or damage
whatsoever arising from any cause
whatsoever and without restricting the
generality of the foregoing shall particularly
not be responsible for loss or damage
arising from any errors or omissions
contained in its brochure or other literature,
late or non-confirmation or acceptance of
reservations, loss or damage caused by
delays, accidents, sickness, injury or death,
whether caused by negligence or not.
The Company may, at its discretion and
without any liability or cost to itself, at any
time cancel or terminate a passenger's
reservation and in particular without limiting
the generality of the foregoing it shall be
entitled to do so in the event of the illness or
the illegal or the incompatible behaviour of
the passenger, who shall in such circumstances
not be entitled to any refund.
Legal action
Thebe’s terms and conditions are governed by the laws of The Republic of South Africa and that in the event of any legal action against Thebe, its directors, members, servants, agents, subcontractors or other employees, direct or indirect, the courts of The Republic of South Africa shall have jurisdiction.
